Convention with Gabe

Cassian's waiting at the counter for Gabe, today should be a good day for him to see the convention. And Gabe's eye for weapons will be useful for looking into the shadier deals that are happening and where Yamato's cover will stand out a little too much.

"Even for racing. Especially for racing."

Crashes may be exciting for the crowd but there's always a sense of horror with them, too.

"What are the rules for this race? Strictly speed and skill or can they use a few tricks?"

"A few tricks but its one of those races where there are places that the camera drones can't see as easily."

"So maybe more than a few. Is that frowned upon or do most just look the other way?"

He's not clear on how seedy this particular race is. On the one hand there's quite the convention going on. On the other they were able to root out a black market lead.

"I think it depends on the racer and what they try. I've heard stories of some nasty races."

Its a mix because the Empire sometimes uses those seedier elements so doesn't want to throw them fully out.

Gabriel grimaces slightly.

"Is Master Ilo prepared to deal with that?"

"Yes, he is." Yamato's a scrappy fighter and that comes through in his flying.

"And he's got a couple aces up his sleeves?"

He glances around them.

"Nevermind, don't answer that." He grins, in case anyone really is listening in. "I'd rather be surprised."

"You'll see on the day of the race." Which is looking like Yamato will have a nice cheering section.

"Hah, looking forward to it."

He raises his drink to Cassian.

"To Master Ilo."
