She touches the comm board with said purple-glowing hand, and the entire cockpit electrical system lights up. Something travels over the wires, and the TIE fighters following them will shortly have a very memorable surprise.
EMP pulses are tricksy things! Especially when they are very, very localized.
"I think we will have less of a problem with pursuit now, no?"
