The children crowd around him, reaching for his hands and body so they don't lose him. As they approach, a sentry spots them and gestures towards an opening and a waiting transport.
Not far behind them, Cassian is following the same path, they seem to have thrown off most of their pursuers when a voice fills the air, "What do you think you have accomplished, rebels, a few lives rescued. Nothing you do will make a difference."
Cassian searches and finds the Imperial officer talking from a roof. Then he places himself before aiming and then the voice falls silent while he covers the last ground to the rendezvous.
