Convention with Barry and Cisco

Cassian's at the counter in his informal Willix outfit which resembles a simple blue suit that's more formal that what he normally wears.

He left a note for them about a chance to go see a lot of ships at the convention. Today's a good day for them to visit as its the busiest of the convention with the most tourists.

Barry grins wide in excitement, bouncing on his heels.

"So awesome"

Cassian walks behind them to get them moving then stops as an Imperial officer with a few 'troopers walks by,

"Turn right and you can go through the best displays."

Barry stops when Cassian does, reaching out a hand to lay on Cisco's shoulder and stop him from walking in front of the 'troopers. Barry gives them a nod as they pass, then turns Cisco by the shoulder in the direction Cassian indicates.

"So what's all this for, anyways?" Barry asks Cassian.

"Are they showcasing new models, are there any 'ships of the future'?" Cisco asks, snapping a pic as they walk.

"Not here, but there are some mock ups on display, nothing full size. They're out here to sell and show what they've been building. Everyone who can afford it wants to the best ship."

Once the 'troopers have passed, they're surrounded by ships, cross sections of ships, private rooms within the exhibits where private conversations are going on.

Various species pass by in differing levels of dress, most of the obviously rich seem to be human with a few exceptions. Bounty hunters in their outfits proclaiming their danger are also in the crowd.

Cisco starts taking pictures, mostly of the ships but he's definitely trying to discreetly capture some of the aliens walking around, too.

"Well sure, wouldn't you want the best if you could afford it?" he asks, grabbing a pic of a purple dude.

"Is it just the floor show or do they have panels and presentations?" Barry asks. "Are there any demonstrations? If we could get some literature about these ships that would be great."

"Yes, there's all of that. What are you most interested in?"

With his cover, he'll be able to get them whatever invites they need.

"Engines and faster than light travel," Cisco responds promptly.

[run_barry]

"Dude, you are not building a hyperdrive," Barry informs Cisco seriously while shaking his head.

"Trade show for ships, you need to be more specific. There are some in the garage you could take apart."

That would answer his questions better about the hows.

"Oh, right, because I want to cause a cosmic tearing black hole in the bar sitting smack dab in the middle of the entire multiverse," Cisco scoffs.

"Not that I would, because I'm awesome, but do we really want to take that chance?"

"No, we don't," Barry says, trying to stop that idea from going any further.

"What about one that showcases the new mechanical features in any of the newer ships?" he asks. Showing off new technologies and innovations seems like something anyone trying to sell a ship would do.

Cassian looks around the hall and thinks before heading deeper into the section there in before coming across a display of engines and engine modifications. Lots of different companies but this is an area clearly meant more for engineers than higher ups or pilots.

He heads to a company he knows, a Corellian one that knows this cover and gives a wave as he walks closer, "Master Ilo sent me with two of his engineers to get deeper into that new model you have."

Barry and Cisco follow after Cassian, looking around as they go.

"Hi," Barry greets the man with a nod.

Cisco snaps a few more pics while they walk, then grins at the man Cassian walks up to.

"Yep, totally us," Cisco says, gesturing at himself and Barry with his thumbs. "Two engineers. The best. Me and him. Engineers."

Yep.

"If you come this way I can show you all the specs as well as a closer look,"

He leads them to an entire engine with an interactive detailed holonet projection. Cassian keeps a little farther behind them, noting various details including a conversation in Huttese that's just beyond the exhibit's walls.

When the man's back is turned to lead them Barry nudges Cisco, mouthing a 'be cool' to him.

He forgets that himself a moment later when they see the engine and projection.

"Woah, cool."

"Sweet," Cisco says, trying to get as close to the engine and projection as he can so he can look it all over.

The salesperson smiles and gives them space, moving over to Cassian, "I'm here if you have any questions. Can I make some caf for all of you?"

"Yes, that would be a good idea. I think we'll be here a while." Cassian says as the conversation outside moves on.

"Lots of sugar in mine," Cisco says over his shoulder, before bending low to get a look at the engine from different angles.

"Ohhh, check it out... "

Barry bends down with Cisco, smiling as Cisco points out things and rambles about them.

It's still a little hard to believe that they're here looking at a spaceship engine that's designed to actually fly out in space.

"Have you heard anymore about who's racing?" Cassian asks the salesperson while Barry and Cisco look and the caf brews. "A few rumors, everyone wants to keep their secrets to hope it gives them an edge. Is it really true that your boss is flying?" There's respect in their voice.

"Yes, but he's a good pilot, but you know how it is. I want to help him." Cassian keeps his voice low and almost apologetic.

"I'll keep listening."

"There's going to be racing?" Cisco asks, turning his attention from the engine after catching that part of the conversation.

[run_barry]

Barry caught that part, too, but didn't want to be thought as eavesdropping.

Since Cisco has asked though, Barry turns his attention to Cassian and his friend, waiting for the answer.
