Convention with Gabe

Cassian's waiting at the counter for Gabe, today should be a good day for him to see the convention. And Gabe's eye for weapons will be useful for looking into the shadier deals that are happening and where Yamato's cover will stand out a little too much.

Cassian's dressed in his Willix cover of a neat blue suit.

Cassian starts running through the varieties highlighting a few that are more unusual, "I always like trying to get something a little spicy along with the sweet."

"I'm game to try anything once."

He is definitely making a mental note about Cassian's fondness for heat.

Cassian smiles and orders them both what he normally gets and hands one over to Gabe, "Here you go."

Gabriel accepts it with thanks and takes a moderately sized bite. The sweetness and the soft texture are the first noticeable things, and then rolling up under it a gentle spicy heat that makes his mouth tingle. He recognizes flavors in broad sort of sense but none of it is really familiar.

"I've never had anything quite like this. Good, though." And he takes a second bite.

As Cassian's eating his own, he nods around his eating. Once he's finished his bite, "I always get them when I can. And the juices over there are a good balance."

He follows Cassian over to the next stall, enjoying being shown around.

"What are they called again?"

He wants to ask Bar for this desert later.

"Loop pastry and oh good, they have Muja fruit juice."

They have other varieties like horned melons or others.

Loop pastry, check.

"Is Muja rare or just popular?" He could see them selling out with crowds like this. He's eyeing the rest of the unusually shaped fruits without looking like his gawking.

"Popular, you can find it anywhere but its also a nice flavor. There's also a jelly made from it that you'll see in pastries too."

There isn't anything too fancy in this food hall but the word muja appears in various places.

"Kind of like strawberries, then."

He wonders how much artificial flavoring gets used here.

"I've had those. They're nice. Are they used in a lot of dishes?"

"They're fairly common, yes. The fruit dipped in chocolate is the most basic desert, but they also get used in pies, pastries, drink and candy flavorings. Strawberry jam can go in donuts or on toast."

He shrugs.

"Most fruit is pretty versatile. That, and people like to experiment."

"That sounds like a nice treat. I think I might have had it a party."

It seems like the sort of dish that Emcee would enjoy.

"It wouldn't surprise me. It's a nice finger food."

[childofrebellion]

"Those are always useful for times when there isn't time to sit down."

[sticktothemission]

"Or if there's no place to sit."

He's feeling pretty full now.

"What's next?"

"Back in there or out to the hangar to see more ships. Also there's a nice cantina next to the hangar."

[sticktothemission]

Holy shit, yes cantina, that's not even a question.

"Can we bring drinks into the hanger?"

[childofrebellion]

"Yes, we can. Its not too far away."

[sticktothemission]

"Then cantina, grab a drink, explore the hanger more?" He raises his brows at Cassian. Good plan?

Cassian nods and shows Gabe where to put away their trash before heading towards the exit. The streets outside are busy with a mix of species as he heads to the hangar. Next to the hangar is the cantina which is very much a mechanics and pilots' space, its not as formal as other spaces.

He adopts more of Cassian's stance here, not wanting to stick out as a tourist. He's used to moving through crowds without drawing attention, just not ones with so many different shapes.

It's pretty fucking cool but he's still taking care not to gawk.

They don't stand out too much as there are clearly variously dressed people around. In the cantina, Cassian finds them a quiet table with good sight lines. When a waitress comes by, he orders two Alderaan ales. Here they can watch the people around them.

Gabriel gives the waitress a flirty wink, expecting she's probably used to it in a place like this.

She smiles back at him and gives him and Cassian a look over, "Want anything to eat?"

Cassian looks to Gabe with a questioning eyebrow.
