Cantinas with Cassidy

When Cassian enters, he's changed into a shirt that maybe once was red and a suit jacket that's casual and like the other one, once belonged to a larger man.

It helps to sell the character if his clothes show someone trying to improve and get farther from the Outer Rim.

He looks around for Cassidy as they want to use as much of the night as they can.

Okay, now this is a cantina. Cassidy is visibly pleased. And he takes a moment to appreciate the dancers while trying not to look too weirded out by their head...appendages? He supposes they can be sexy. Actually, yeah, they're pretty sexy. Sure! Why not.

Cassian watches Cassidy who seems good and picks up the drink Enla ordered. One of the dancers comes their way and moves close to Enla who beams at her before lifting her drink, "To more of everything good."

The drink is strong and spicy, Cassian almost coughs at the bitter aftertaste and Enla grins at him, "Never had this before."

"Secret of the house and I know," Enla says as she clinks Cassidy's glass.

Cassidy takes his eyes off the dancers long enough to join in on the toast.

After downing a mouthful, he wheezes out a laugh. "Whoo! That's some good shite right there. Can I get this in a bottle or does this place keep it to themselves?"

"Bring me what I want," Enla said as the dancer returned and Enla kissed her and waved, "Bye boys."

Cassian leans on the counter as he watches her go and clinks his glass with Cassidy's, "Can you do it?"

Cassidy watches them leave, feeling the tiniest bit rejected, but it's not like that hasn't happened before.

"Right now? I wasn't planning on dealing controlled substances tonight, or else I would've grabbed some from the infirmary," he retorts in a low voice. "Unless you know a source and can lend me some currency, I'm not made of magic, mate."

Cassian takes another drink and nods, if Enla looks back, she'll see Cassian impressed at his friend while he says quietly and in Festian, "I know and I have some left over from before. I needed to keep her interested."

"Ah, you wonderful bastard, you," he guffaws into his glass before swallowing a mouthful.

"I'll hafta make like I met one of my suppliers here. Is she watching?"

This cantina has a greater variety of aliens than the other and Cassian keeping an eye on a Mantellian Savrip and a Karkarodon who seem to be almost yelling.

The dancers have all found patrons or a drink and outside there's the clump, clump of a stormtrooper patrol passing which makes everything tenser. Enla's keeping a partial eye on them and gives Cassidy a little finger wave between kisses with the dancer.

Cassian says still in Festian, "Not yet, she'll try and take every advantage for herself. Its too easy to be caught in a lie."

Now aren't they a pair of pleasant-looking blokes. Cassidy would much rather watch Enla and the dancer, as he returns the finger wave. Those stormtroopers really do put a damper on things, though.

He catches about eighty percent of what Cassian said, mostly the important bits about taking advantage and getting caught lying.

"Eh, well, we have the night ahead of us. Believe me, though, I'm not leavin' without that info and a bottle of whatever this stuff is."

After the patrol passes, the cantina returns to normal, Cassian's watching them because if they start a fight, it will be big. The Twi'lek bartender hears and says, "I can get you a bottle, she doesn't know all the secrets."

Cassian nudges Cassidy with a smile as he says, "Really, she acts like she knows everything."

"No, just her position going to her head," She refills both their glasses.

Cassidy glances from Cassian to the bartender.

"Can you?" he says with a beaming grin. "Ohh, that's really, really good of you, luv, thanks, I do appreciate that. Does it have a name? Do you have a name?"

"I'm Sinya and the drink's called All or Nothing. The owner, he's in the corner likes his sabacc. He'll charge you too much for it but take me with you on your trip and I'll get you a case," She gestures at the Karkarodon.

"That's asking a lot for a drink," Cassian says, looking more nervous as he glances at Cassidy.

"I heard what you said, you're not from around here. I could tell her that you're both lying. You work in her office, get me a travel visa, something," She leans on the counter and between them.

Well, shite.

Let it be known that bartenders in every world have superior hearing. Like seriously, how did she even hear any of that over the music.

"Now, look, Sinya-- name's Cassidy, by the way, pleased to meet'cha-- it's all just a harmless bet, really, which, in retrospect, wasn't very well thought out, to tell you the truth. I take the blame for that, I just dragged this poor fella into it." He chuckles and claps Cassian on the shoulder.

"What's the bet? I know everyone who comes in here and everyone comes in here, Cassidy. Oh, he's your way in? He's got a nice face, you both do, maybe I'll help you if I get something out of it," Sinya taps Cassidy on the nose and smiles at the look on Cassian's face.

"I told you this wouldn't work, Cassidy. I don't want to lose my job, there's nothing for me back there,"

Cassian puts desperation into his voice and his accent is heavier.

"No, no, no, nobody's losin' their job, it'll be alright," he says, his hand still on Cassian's shoulder.

"Y'see, Sinla, I bet him that I could get him an 'in' with Enla over there, plain and simple. She's just not givin' him a chance, y'know? All this Outer Rim loser shite, I mean c'mon. So I just thought, because we're such good friends, I could try to set somethin' up for him an' make him look good. He thought I couldn't do it. So far, a bottle of Coreillian whiskey is at stake, and now so is a bottle of All or Nothin'."

Sinya sighs and takes a sip from Cassidy's glass, "I'm from the Outer Rim, don't let her order you around. We need to stick together when those Core wastoids sneer at us. I know a visas more than you can do, but tell me when there's something I might catch leaving and I'll convince her you know everyone."

Cassian runs his hand through his hair, it makes him seem younger and worried before he nods, "I can do that and I just got paid. I could buy a bottle of All or Nothing from you."

"You'll do fine, just remember nice suits don't mean anything. Maybe 'troopers come quicker but that's all. I need to work, I'll find you later," Then she turned to go deal with an argument between two patrons while leaving the opened bottle on the counter.

Cassidy watches her move to the other end of the bar.

"Well, she seems nice," he says a little wryly, aside from threatening to expose them as lying liars, but okay. He does appreciate the open bottle, though.

"Nicer than she could have been, she likes your face. Not bored?"

He doesn't know what Cassidy was expecting from this trip, so far its helping with his work.

"She likes your face, too," he says with a smirk as he refills both their glasses.

"Bored? Fuck no, mate, havin' a blast." He can't remember having to bullshit this much in one go in quite a while.

"Still gotta deliver the goods or Enla won't think very highly of either of us."

Cassian shrugs, he doesn't have time to think about flings, everyone wants something and he's not the kind for relationships.

When Cassidy refills his glass, he takes a sip and keeps his voice low, "Good, didn't know if you would. I have those extras, won't be able to get them to her tonight but tomorrow. I don't want her to think too highly of me, then she'll ask questions."

Now he just wants to get Cassian laid. It's what any friend would do.

"She's a tough one, I'll give 'er that," he chuckles low into his glass.

"What's up with Fish Guy and Lizard Neck over there?"

There's a bellow as Cassian turns, "Maybe the owner owes him money."

From that corner there's a yell as the Karkarodon owner shouts, "No, you can't run your game here. You bring the place down!"

"This is my planet, you water breather!"

Then there's a push and with the two of them fighting, everything's loud. A chair flies through the air hitting a tall Pyke who picks up the chair pieces and hits the first person in his way.

Cassian sips his drink though he's tensed up, "With the way its going, we should be safe until they hit the stage. The owner won't want any bottles broken."

"Holy shite!" he chortles as the fists and furniture go flying. He's tensed up, too, ready to follow Cassian's lead, but the fight is still pretty damn entertaining. "Wouldn't wanna get caught up with those behemoths."

"No, no one wants to be," More furniture starts to get broken as other patrons join in the fight bringing it their way and Cassian finishes his drink before considering where they are. When a Ithorian arguing with one of the dancers passes them, Cassian turns and with quick precision takes down the Ithorian who the dancer then stomps on and nods at them.

By this time the fight is around them while fists and broken glass and wood are flying. From two sides there are fists flying and Cassian looks over to Cassidy to see how he's going to do in this kind of brawl.

Cassidy blinks. He...did not expect Cassian to do that, but okay.

"Well, alright then," he chirps, giving the dancer a thumbs up.

He grabs the bottle of All or Nothing and tucks it into his jacket for safe keeping.

"Should we get out of here? Where's Enla? And the bartender, is she okay?"

As much as Cassidy likes a brawl, he won't jump in unless he has a good reason to.
