On base with Kay

Cassian wants to be going on a mission again but that means getting all the pieces together.

As he's finding sleep hard to come by, he takes his datapad and goes to rest on Kay where he's recharging.

Soon he has projections of possible routes and options for a sabotage up and the plan's looking like something he can take to Draven and command for approval.

"Then we need to go, it can't communicate with anyone," He says as he tucks the comm link in his pocket, it might be useful.

"You are not authorized to be here," The droid says but from how hard Kay pushed it, it can't move or do anything.

Cassian waits for Kay and leans on the wall, he should be able to walk just not fast.

Kay stands a moment to make sure the other droid isn't going to move at Cassian again, then turns and joins Cassian; holding out an arm to lend support should Cassian need it.

"It could identify you later, if it survives the blast." However unlikely that might be, considering the charges that Cassian has rigged.

Cassian draws his blaster as he leans on Kay and shoots the droid in the head, "Now it won't. Let's get moving."

The detonators will be going off soon and they need to not be close to it.

"Thirty-nine seconds," Kay notes as he starts heading them in the direction of the route they'd mapped out in Cassian's plans.

As fast he can, Cassian limps and runs down the various corridors while trying not to lean on Kay too much. He can feel that something's not right in his ankle but he can move.

The door out finally appears as the countdown goes in his head and he keeps going forward, not running as that would draw attention but quickly. As they pass an alley partly away from the factory, the explosions start, rocking the ground and Cassian holds onto Kay.

He stands fast for Cassian, helping him to keep upright as the explosion rips through the facility, sending people running and screaming one way, while Troopers jump to arms heading in the other.

"You will require medical care," Kay notes, heading them in the direction of the parked ship.

"I know but its not too bad,"

No one looks too closely at them as everyone's focused on the explosion and they're heading away. A 'trooper pauses as they walk past but doesn't stop to talk.

Kay remains on alert until they are on the ship and he's in his seat, programming their departure.

"Patrols will be in the air soon, we should leave immediately," he informs Cassian.

Cassian nods and completes his checks and briefly talks to the port to get clearance, sounding impatient and then says, "We're cleared."

As soon as Cassian gives the word Kay punches it, lifting off and leaving the chaos behind.

"Congratulations on not dying," he says.

"I wasn't going to die," As soon as they're safely in hyperspace, he turns his chair to lift his leg and see how bad it is.

"You were eight point five seconds away from not escaping your own detonation," Kay informs Cassian.

[childofrebellion]

That's much closer than he realized and looks at his boot, his foot has swelled slightly inside it, "But I did. I hate injuries like this."

He can walk but if he shows it to a medic, they'll try and ground him. Yet he also needs it checked out in case it gets worse.

Kay plots out their course then turns to look at Cassian.

"Are there injuries that you like?" he asks.

They are heading for his rendezvous and usually Draven sends more missions while they're away to save time.

He tries moving and stretching his ankle which hurts and he hisses in pain, "Yes, if its bleeding I can put bacta on it and keep going. Next stop is a cantina for a conversation, less chance for trouble."

"Yes, and I will stand guard outside so as not to spook your contact," Kay says, reciting the plan Cassian had made Kay agree to.

"It shouldn't take long. She's changing posts which is why this is a good chance,"

And the port is close to their previous stop so it should be a short hop.

[rebel_droid]

"Good. I do not like waiting."

The course Kay plotted kept them away from possible trouble, but still got them to their destination in short order.

When they arrive, Cassian stands up carefully,

"I know. Other than the limp any signs that we were near an explosion?"

[rebel_droid]

Kay stands up from his seat and heads for the back of the ship and it's door.

"No, I do not see any char or signs that would indicate such. You simply look like a disheveled mess." But certainly not like someone who had been in an explosion.

Cassian runs his hands through his hair to try and make it neater, it partly helps, "Right."

Then starts walking towards Kay, trying to not limp too obviously or let the pain show.

Kay watches Cassian for a moment, then moves to open the door.

His intent is to verify things are clear outside, but the door doesn't open to the outside.

Instead, a cantina has appeared.
