Preparation and Raid

Cassian pats the shuttle as he gets off, nodding to the pilot before stepping off and starting towards Ops and Draven.

If he reports first then he can find Kay and get some rest perhaps even see if whoever's cooking needs help. As he walks back, he notes the extra movement and wonders which of the possible raids is going ahead.

He gets a few nods but not that many, he's not around that much and tends to keep to himself, its safer in the long run.

In the transport a few of the parents are waiting alongside the rebels, everyone's getting patched up.

As the first transport gets full, Cassian limps into the rendezvous and gives a wave to the sentry. It takes him a moment to find Kay and he heads over his way.

When Kay spots Cassian he helps to close the distance, disapproval in his approach when he sees the limp.

"You are injured."

"Its not deep. Is everyone safe?" That's what matters more and he shifts to lean on Kay.

[rebel_droid]

"All of the children are safely in the transport," Kay confirms.

"You are still limping."

[childofrebellion]

One of the other Rebel men comes over, "There's space for both of you."

Cassian nods and with a painful grunt gets himself aboard and near the back, "Yes and we can treat it on the way."

A child looks back and says quietly, "Your friend's safe."

Kay is there to help Cassian aboard, and remains close, watching him settle.

Turning to the child, Kay gives a single nod.

"Yes. As are all my new friends." Which includes all the children.

Once he's sitting, Cassian gets a a medpack to start treating his leg and smiles as he watches Kay with the children. They lift off and the ride becomes bumpy as they're fired at before slipping into hyperspace. One of the little kids is sick when they make the jump.

Cassian's injury is just above his boot and he winces as he gets his pant leg up to look at it.

Seeing Cassian's leg, Kay informs the man, "We will go to the infirmary when we are back on base."

Cassian nods and needs Kay's help to get the bacta on properly, the hit was near the back of his leg. Then he settles against Kay as one of the parents starts telling a story about a family searching the galaxy to find each other.

Its hopeful and helps to pass the time as they do a few jumps to divert attention before landing on a small base. The families are helped out first where a rebel who knows how to use the system has it set up to get them as refugees on Alderaan.

Kay stands by, helping the children unload and giving his two new friends a parting wave.

"Enjoy your freedom," he tells them.

After seeing them off he returns to Cassian, ready to help the man to the infirmary.

He helps with the rest of the unloading then goes with Kay with a limp and says quietly, "I like this kind of mission."

"It is nice, to do good things," Kay agrees, walking alongside Cassian close enough to lend support.

"Yes and those children liked you," It always makes Cassian smile when other people see how nice Kay can be.

"I liked them," he says.

"They listened to me much better than you do."

"I do listen to you," He says then almost trips and ends up leaning on Kay, "Kriff, that hurts."

"I did tell you not to get injured," Kay notes, proof that Cassian does not always listen.

"I tried not to and I never mean to get injured."

[rebel_droid]

Kay considers Cassian's words for a long moment before drawing a conclusion.

"You do not seem to have much success in staying healthy when you try to. Maybe next time you should try and get injured. Then you would not be injured."

"Maybe," They're almost at the infirmary and are spotted by a medic.

[rebel_droid]

Kay turns Cassian over to the medics, although he remains close by to make sure Cassian is not only taken care of properly, but that the man cooperates.

Cassian follows their directions, he always does and when they release him. He stands up and goes over to Kay, "I'm to rest but that will give time to write up my report and do some analysis."

"And also to eat," Kay adds in.

Resting also means Kay will have plenty of chances to fuss over Cassian. Which he will do, of course.

"That too,"

Cassian leans slightly on Kay as he walks, heading first to the mess for something to eat then back to his quarters to work.
