Hangar with Cisco, Barry and Yamato

The hangar's not too far from the main exhibit hall, a walk through busy streets to an imposing building. Inside they walk by many of the real ships that only had models in the exhibit hall and towards a section that's near one of the corner. The ship is gleaming and shining where it waits.

"I couldn't believe it either, I mean, with your mug?" Cisco says, waving a hand in front of his own face to indicate Yamato's. "I think it's the hair. I get a lot of comments asking about your product."

And... another bit goes overboard before Cisco disappears, crawling into the small space beneath the console.

Barry helps himself to a couple of bites, nodding in approval and adding in, "Yeah, thanks Cassian."

Listening to Yamato and Cassian, Barry worries.

"Something you need any help with?" he asks.

Yamato rolls his eyes at Cisco, although he does at least give a momentary smirk.

"My mug's just fine. I know I'm pretty," he says, before his eyes track the discarded piece of machinery as it bounces across the floor.

He turns his attention to Barry and Cassian, just watching out of the corner of his eye, ready to offer help as well if needed.

"No, its a kind of travel that I'm always doing. Do you have all the specs you need for in there?"

He calls into Cisco as he arranges the food in and around the ladder.

"Alright," Barry says to Cassian, giving a nod and letting it go.

"So how fast is this thing going to go during the race?" he asks any of the three who might be able to answer.

[makes_the_toys]

"I guess not everyone would find it so bad," Cisco says about Yamato's face, chuckling.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Cisco replies to Cassian. A moment later he makes a 'whoop' noise of the 'uh-oh' variety.

"Actually... I'm gonna need that last part back. It's fine. It's totally fine."

Completely.

Yamato picks up the discarded part, turning it over in his hands, before heading up the ladder to Cisco.

"Pretty fast. Roughly equivalent to one of the faster fighter jets from Earth, I'd say, at least when operating within atmosphere," he says to Barry, as he holds out the part for Cisco.

"In the black, it'll be faster and the handling's good and fast. The times on the equivalent of the course have been where they need to be."

Cassian doesn't trust that whoop noise from Cisco but he's not close enough to se what he's doing.

Barry opens his mouth, about to question Cisco and whether the guy actually knows what he's doing or not.

He shuts it a moment later, glancing at Yamato and really hoping the ship doesn't end up some kind of fiery wreck.

"That's pretty fast," he says instead, picking up more of the food to try, perhaps stress eating now just a little.

Cisco accepts the part with a bit of a sheepish smile, then ducks back underneath and sets to work again.

"Well now the times will be above that," he promise brags. "You better have your reflexes on, Yamato, because this thing is going to haul ass."

Yamato gives Cisco a smile back, then turns, resting his back against the ship with his feet still on the ladder.

He does catch that opening-and-shutting mouth and glance from Barry.

"Right, right, reflexes. I've mostly been piloting with my eyes shut, just hitting the accelerator, getting up to max speed, and hoping that I don't run into anything. That should work out just fine for the race, right?" He deadpans.

He's joking -- he definitely hasn't done that in any of the practice runs, and even the thought of it makes him want to cringe -- but he does a pretty good impression of grave seriousness, because what is life if not an exercise in trolling Barry.

Cassian rolls his eyes at Yamato who's not being helpful, "We've had a lot of practice runs."

"If we're going for 'gun it and pray' then I'm definitely going to need more time to reinforce this thing," Cisco informs Yamato, happy to roll with the troll on Barry. "I thought we were racing, not demolition derby-ing, but if that's the game I've got some awesome modifications we can do."

[run_barry]

"I know you're kidding," or rather, he stridently hopes Yamato is kidding, "but I'm still going to say don't do that."

Yamato isn't insane, so obviously he's going to be careful out there, but Barry feels that same cringe at the idea of flying blind and has to say something about it.

Yamato laughs, giving Barry a wink.

"Maybe hold off on the demolition derby mods, okay?" He murmurs to Cisco, before heading all the way down the ladder, turning his attention back to Barry and Cassian. "I'll be fine. I've had a good teacher."

He gives a nod over at Cassian at that last.

At the look from Yamato, he nods with a small smile, knowing he's a good teacher is a nice feeling,

"He will and I can share the data for the practice runs with you too. Another time tell me about those other mods, I might know some uses for them."

[makes_the_toys]

"You got it," Cisco says, giving Yamato a finger-gun point while clicking his teeth. Then he gets back to work.

There is totally no maniacal cackling involved as he works.

"How long have you guys been hanging out here?" Barry asks Cassian, meaning not so much the show, but in Cassian's world.

Yamato hasn't exactly been keeping track of time, but he's sure Cassian has, so instead he starts craning his head up a little to get a glimpse inside the cockpit.

That cackling is ... unnerving. But it's probably fine, right? Probably. Totally probably maybe fine.

That cackling isn't a good sign and Cassian raises an eyebrow at Cisco before saying,

"A few days to establish everything."

The cackling is just a sign of a mad genius at work.

The cursing and surprised exclamations that follow are a sign of progress.

Eventually Cisco emerges again and grins at Yamato on the ladder.

"Dude, you are going to have a sick time flying this thing."

As long as nothing catches fire or explodes Barry is content to let Cisco do his thing.

He nods to Cassian, again not going to ask what the mission was.

"That's cool. And how long does this show last?"

Yamato flashes a grin at Cisco.

"You should've seen the practice runs. Part of the course involves flying straight down, and with gravity on its side and the momentum it'd built up in space, it went really fast," he says.

"And you controlled the fall. They've created some challenges in the course."

Cassian was proud of Yamato during that run.

"Yeah? Well be prepared to go even faster the next time out," Cisco says, growing more excited as Yamato and Cassian describe the course.

"I did some reroutes and bypass work to get you both more speed and fuel efficiency. I also tweaked the handling some so you should have more responsiveness."
