Hangar with Cisco, Barry and Yamato

The hangar's not too far from the main exhibit hall, a walk through busy streets to an imposing building. Inside they walk by many of the real ships that only had models in the exhibit hall and towards a section that's near one of the corner. The ship is gleaming and shining where it waits.

Cisco snaps all the photos as they go along, adjusting his bag on his shoulders as they walk.

When they reach the hangar Cisco grins, eyes wide. He keeps taking all the pictures while they head for the ship.

"So cool."

Barry looks around as they walk, taking in the displays and bustling activity of the place. He keeps an eye on Cisco while following Cassian.

"This is so awesome," he tells Cassian. "Oh wow, is that the ship? It looks great."

"I know, its beautiful. As they come closer he says, "Master Ilo, sir, I've brought the engineers."

Yamato isn't visible as they approach, being in the cockpit with his head down as he familiarises himself with some of the wiring beneath the console, but he does pop his head up when hears Cassian.

"The engineers, right," he says, and hops out of the cockpit, sliding down the ladder. "Hey. Enjoying the convention? They have -- they have ships. Lots of ships."

The grin he flashes may suggest that he's been quietly geeking out over all the ships.

When Barry sees Yamato he grins.

"Dude." Barry's ready step in and give Yamato a bro hug in greeting, but just manages to stop himself.

"Master Ilo, how's it going?" he says instead, grinning a little too hard.

"Dude!" Cisco says about the same time Barry does.

If he says anymore he's definitely going to say too much, so for once Cisco shuts up and just stands there, grinning and nodding and not so quietly geeking out.

Cassian smiles as he comes closer to the ship to look at what Yamato's doing, "Are you pleased with how she's flying?"

"I am," Yamato says to Cassian, giving a quick nod at the ship. "You've done a good job tuning her, she's handling a lot better."

He gives Barry and Cisco a wide grin, just for a few seconds. "It's going well," he says. "Do you two want to get a closer look at the ship? That should be okay, right, Willix?"

"YASS!" Cisco says excitedly, jumping to the lead because this seems like a ship he can touch and explore given it's 'theirs'.

Barry sidles in beside Yamato, leaning over a bit and dropping his voice to ask, "Man, what are you doing here?"

By his continued smile, Barry is very exited to have his other friend here on this trip to Cassian's universe.

"Good, I want her flying her best. I thought these two might have some suggestions. You know how eager they are to help."

Then Cassian leans near the outer part of their work area to keep watch.

Yamato gives Cassian a grateful nod, and tries very hard to stifle his amusement at Cisco's enthusiasm.

He flicks open a small display on his wrist computer, taking a second to scan and make sure there aren't any bugs, then shuts it again.

"I was asked to help out on the job," he says to Barry, dropping his voice as well, and nods in the direction of Cassian, just to indicate exactly whose job he means. "We got what we came for, but -- you've probably heard already that Pan has gambling debts, right?"

There's a momentary, awkward shuffle, before he continues, keeping his voice hushed. "He's got until the end of the convention to pay them off, and we had to do something, so, er ..." He nods at the ship. "I'm racing. I've spent the last few days practising with the ship, while Willix tunes it and fixes up the problems with it."

Barry almost asks 'what job?' then thinks the better of that. Not only might that be something he doesn't want to know, it's also probably not wise to talk about here.

Instead, he gives a nod about Pan.

"Yeah, we met him. He seems like a nice guy." And regardless of how the guy got into trouble, Barry still feels sympathy for him.

"I've gotta say, I'm a little insulted you guys waited so long to call me in on this," Cisco says, looking back at Yamato and Cassian with one hand resting on the side of the ship.

"Tune ups, fixes and problems and you wait until near go time to call in the mechanical engineering genius? You WOUND ME!"

That said, near shouted, Cisco shucks off his go-bag and starts rooting around in it, pulling out a data pad and some other devices from within.

"You're here now,"

Cassian says from where he's leaning with a smile. He knows that Cisco will find even more improvements.

"Sorry, kid," Yamato laughs, rubbing the back of his neck. "But you've got plenty of time to look it over now."

He gives Barry a quick nod back. "He's a good person. Made a bunch of stupid mistakes and was gearing up to make more, but everyone screws up sometimes."

He pauses for a moment, tapping the back of his neck, then gives Cassian a quick glance before looking between Barry and Cisco. "If, er -- I mean, do you two want to come to the race? There'll be ... snacks and stuff ... and some of the other ships competing look pretty cool."

"I'm sure you've got this," Barry assures Cisco, amused.

Replying to Yamato, Barry gives a quick and excited nod.

"Definitely," Barry says. "Of course we wanna watch you win this thing."

Because naturally Yamato will.

"Yeah, lucky you," Cisco says to Cassian.

Equipment pulled from his bag, Cisco climbs into the ship, plugging into the console with a custom diagnostic tool he whipped up when he was working down in the garage in Milliways.

"Alright, let's see what the magic man can do... "

"I'll get you tickets and make certain that you've got good seats." He says with a smile then watches someone walk across the hangar. "I'll leave you to it and get us some cafs and snacks from the cantina next door."

Yamato's eyes flick across the hangar, following Cassian's gaze to watch the same person walk across the hangar. He doesn't push for details: Even assuming that this does have something to do with Cassian's business at the convention, and isn't just a normal snack run, he's sure Cassian would say if he needed back-up.

"We'll be here if you need us," he says instead, giving Cassian a quick nod.

He flashes a grin at Barry a second later, giving a split-second, puppyish bounce. "It'll be, er, great to have you both there. And some of the other ships flying are some really cool sports ships, so you can see those in action, too."

Barry notices Cassian and Yamato watching something and he turns his head. He's not sure what he's looking for, though, and doesn't notice anything interesting so he shrugs it off.

"Too bad we didn't know ahead of time, we could've made signs and stuff," Barry teases. "Cisco has a large-scale printer at the Labs, we totally could've put your head on a giant sign. Master Ilo number one."

From within the ship Cisco is swiping through screens, reading information, turning schematics this way and that and making 'mm-hmm' noises to himself.

Not pausing in his work, he pipes up, "Foam fingers. I could've ordered foam fingers and beer hats, and... whatever else NASCAR spectators have."

"You don't -- I don't -- You wouldn't have actually done that," Yamato says to the idea of a giant sign, turning faintly red. "Even you two wouldn't have done that."

Foam fingers and beer hats, meanwhile, he -- he can see Cisco doing that, at least.

"How's it look?" He asks, nodding in the direction of Cisco's diagnostic device. "It flies pretty well, or at least it did once Willix had spent some time working on it, but any extra improvements would be welcome."

"Mm, wouldn't we have, though?" Barry asks with a 'are you sure look at Yamato.

They may not have, but it's fun to tease.

"Making full-size cardboard stand-ups of people is one of my hobbies," Cisco pipes in.

Because he so would have.

"It looks like someone competent did some pretty good work on this," he replies to Yamato's question. "Now just imagine if it had been a genius with mad skills who'd been working on it."

So yeah, Cisco will allow that Cassian did a good job, it's just that Cisco could've done better.

"Luckily, we've got time." That said, Cisco grabs hold of the console and then wrenches it free, exposing the wiring on the inside. "Let's see what the genius can do... "
