childofrebellion | Swoop Races with Barry and Cisco

With Howl safe on the side of the track, Barry takes off again.

He has a moment of panic when he doesn't see Cisco or Cassian, but there are other people in danger so Barry rushes to save them.

Whole rows of spectators are cleared out a person at a time just in front of the tumbling wreckage, with Barry snatching the last one right before the burning swoop comes to rest in the seat the blue alien had just been occupying.

Leaving the excited and bewildered people to sort themselves out while others rush to take care of the flames, Barry returns to the seats he was in with Cisco and Cassian, calling out, "Guys? Guys are you alright?!"

While crouching, Cassian listens trying to make sense of what's happening, then hears Barry's voice.

He slowly sits up, a hanging part of the wreckage hit the lower part of his back where his jacket rode up leaving a bad bruise along with scrapping the skin.

Rescue droids, local police and stormtroopers are headed towards the worst of the crash, "Yes, Cisco?"

As he looks around, he notices that there don't seem to be as many injured as he would have expected.

"Yeah, I'm fine... I think I landed on my keys, though," Cisco says, getting out from underneath Cassian with a grunt, then lifting his head to look around.

Relief washes over Barry when he finally spots Cisco and Cassian, and he steps into the row to offer either one a hand up.

"I think maybe we should go... "

Barry doubts Cassian will want to be around all the troopers and police, and people are already starting to raise questions about the blur they saw. It's doubtful anyone could actually identify it was Barry, but best not to risk attention, right?

"Yes, there's an exit this way,"

He offers Cisco a hand to get up and gestures with his head towards a smaller door near them. It will take them out in a different place than they came in but will avoid the crowds and questions.

Cisco accepts the hand up, hanging onto Cassian's a moment after he's on his feet; staring at the man.

"Bro, you saved my life."

Barry blinks at that, looking between the two of them. Conversation can wait though and he nods his head for them to go.

"C'mon, let's get out of here." And away from all of this chaos.

Cassian meets the stare and nods, not certain what to say, he doesn't know what Cisco might do, "You're welcome and we should go."

He can hear 'trooper boots coming down the aisles and gets them down the exit.

It takes a few turns but soon they end up at a side entrance. He keeps them walking until they're in a quiet side street, "Barry, what happened?"

Cisco lets go and follows, resisting the urge to look over his shoulder hearing those boots.

Once they're away from all of the noise Cisco starts to breath again, patting his chest to calm his nerves and then actually checking himself over.

"That was nuts."

Barry takes up the rear, ready to move if they run into any trouble, and grateful when they don't find any.

"One of the other racers slammed into Howl pretty hard and he lost control of his swoop." Barry couldn't say if it was just in the course of trying to win the race, or if the move was a deliberate attempt to hurt the man, though.

"He's fine, I got him off the bike before it hit the track."

"Its usually not that exciting here. Good, did you shift some of the people behind us too? I didn't know you could do all that,"

There should have been more injuries, he's seen what kind of damage speeders can do. If that's what Barry can do, then he's not only meant to be a hero, he's a good one.

As they're standing, he reaches around to try and see how bad his back is, it feels tender.

Barry nods, frowning a little.

"Yeah, I moved as many people as I could out of the way."

"Superspeed," Cisco says in explanation, shrugging.

He notices Cassian's actions and gives the man a nod. "You okay?"

"You did a lot. Yes, nothing too bad. You mentioned souvenirs. I know I saw a place selling swoop models somewhere,"

As he doesn't seem to be bleeding, he adjusts his shirt.

"That sounds like a fine-not-fine to me," Cisco notes. He won't pester Cassian about it, though. He just feels a bit bad the man was hurt saving Cisco's skin.

It gives Cisco something to think about, and maybe some things to reevaluate.

Barry's smile returns on Cassian's words, and he nods, glad for the acknowledgement, but more glad he was able to help.

"Let's check it out. If you're up for it." Barry gives Cassian his own doubtful look, hoping the guy isn't really hurt too bad.

"I'll put some bacta on it later, but it probably won't need it. I am," He's good at judging what needs looking at and what doesn't.

Down a block and with about one turn, they end up at a store that seems to have everything swoop related like models, clothing, holovids.

Entering the shop, Barry and Cisco immediately split up and start poking around.

"Wow, this stuff is cool. I should get Joe and Iris something." Of course, not being able to explain where it came from makes that tricky.

"Oh man, models. I need all the models," Cisco enthuses, bending to take a closer look at those on display.

"We don't have that many credits,"

He smiles, the Rebellion never has that much but he's good at finding ways to have enough for what might happen.

"What, they don't take debit cards?" he jokes, then focuses on the task of picking which model to take, since all of them isn't an option.

"Too bad they don't have anything that says 'I got this from another universe'," he laughs.

"Not ones that you would have and you know where its from. What are you thinking about?"

He walks closer to see what they're both looking at. That seems to be the idea and Cassian's doing some calculating, he might be able to have little extra for them. He can wait to buy some of the spices he was thinking about.

"Kidding," Cisco says easily, amused.

The model he's looking at is a lot like the swoop Em Artha had in her race.

Barry keeps looking, but doesn't see anything he really has to have. Besides that, it seems like budget might be a bit tight for Cassian and Barry would much rather Cisco get something.

"I think I'm good," he says, "But if we could hit another one of the food carts before we head out that'd be great."
