Swoop Races with Barry and Cisco

The door opens onto a decently lit alley with building's reaching up, ships overhead and a crowd of various alien races moving in the cross-street.

Cassian holds it for Barry and Cisco to walk out, searching up for surveillance and listening for 'trooper boots, "Welcome to Corsin.

"No, probably someone in grey," Its said softly as the Sullastan turns to check on some meat.

"Some of the younger ones like to let loose a little out here. I'll keep listening," Cassian says as he takes a bite while the Sullastan nods at him.

Both Barry and Cisco turn their heads to look around, half expecting this person in grey to be nearby.

"What happens if we run into him?"

"We're not actually on some secret mission, are we?" Cisco asks suspiciously. "If so, I totally brought the wrong tool-kit for that."

"We won't and no," Cassian says, he's not working today. It was simply chance that there was news at this booth.

The Sullastan laughs as if trying to brush away any worries, "With Jeron, no, go enjoy the races and don't worry about..."

Quickly he says something in his own language, a rapid, liquid sound.

The addition gets an eyebrow raise from Cassian, he hasn't heard that word before, "No, we should keep heading to the track."

Then in Festian, he adds to explain to Cisco and Barry, "Grey is the color of some Imperial uniforms. Not always the highest ones. We try to be careful in how we talk."

Barry doesn't get that last word from the man, and arches a brow at Cassian.

He is glad to be picking up most of what's said, since they're out here without the help of the bar's translation field.

When Cassian speaks Barry parses what he can together thanks to its similarity to Spanish and nods. "We'll be careful."

Cisco is surprised by the Spanish from both of them.

"Right... well, as long as we aren't looking for trouble, I'm cool."

At their answers he nods and also to the Sullastan before heading back down the street. When they're at a point where they're all closer he says, " That was Festian from my home planet, its similar to Spanish. We're not. We're looking for races and for you both to have a good time."

As they keep walking, there are more crowds and every once in a while, a stormtrooper patrol. They pass an astromech painted green and white beeping at a young Kel Dor.

They each nod, and it doesn't take long for excitement to take over again.

Barry polishes off the food they got from the vendor, and grins when he sees the droid.

"Awesome."

Cisco captures everything on his pad, taking more than a few selfie shots.

"Hey, you think one of those guys would snap a pic with me, or would it be a terrible idea to ask?" Cisco asks, giving a nod at one of the patrols while he readies to take their picture.

"Probably not the best idea, but its not a question I've ever seen them asked,"

Usually if he's noting where they are, it to avoid them.

"Yeah, they don't really seem like the posing type," Barry says warily.

On their world of course Stormtroopers are cool, but up close like this, they're kind of intimidating.

Cisco snaps his shot of the passing patrol and then gets one of the droid for good measure.

"Don't sound so leery, Barry. You could take those dudes, easy."

Cassian gives Cisco a skeptical look, 'troopers aren't always the best fighters but they're dangerous.

In a block or two, they start to see mechanics and swoops in various pieces along with people discussing their chances.

"Sure I could," Barry replies with a chuckle, trying to laugh off those nerves.

[makes_the_toys]

When they get to the swoops Cisco puts aside the picture taking in favor of focusing on the crafts.

"Cool. Is this gonna be like one on one drag racing, or more Indy 500?" he asks.

"I don't know what either of those are,"

He thinks he kind of knows what Cisco asking but maybe not.

"He means do two racers take each other on head to head down a strip in a straight line race, or do all of the swoops race each other at once around a track or course?" Barry tries to clarify.

[makes_the_toys]

"Basically, does it come down more to speed, or maneuverability?" Cisco asks.

"There are two kinds of races. Usually its everyone all at once but there are some time trials. Swoops get built with all kinds of modifications for everything in between depending on the rider. See, that one over there is all about speed,"

He points to a stripped down and sleek swoop, someone's working on the engine and their is hidden.

Cisco stands on tip-toes and leans in, trying to get a better look at that engine.

"Do you ever race?" he asks Cassian.

[run_barry]

"How fast do they go?" Barry asks in turn, looking over another of the nearby craft.

"No, when I was younger, we'd sometimes race if there was space with whatever vehicles we had. I always liked flying better, less chance of running into anything. Go ask if you want, it all depends on the swoop,"

And in his experience, mechanics and racers like to brag.

"I'll ask him!" Cisco says quickly, jumping at the opportunity. "Hey yo, man, what're you clocking on this thing?"

[run_barry]

Barry chuckles at Cassian's reply. "And I'd prefer to stick to the ground, because there's less chance of falling out of the sky."

When Cisco takes lead on asking strangers questions Barry watches, eager to hear the answer, but also ready to corral his friend if it becomes necessary.

The racer looks up from the engine, showing a human male face, "I can crack 200 miles per hour in the right conditions. There's not a space piece on my corsair, all she wants to do is go."

Cassian nods at Barry and walks closer to hear the answer.
